Backstory

K'vexha has been on her own for the vast majority of her life, traveling from city to city after running away from her clan at a young age.

Born into the Hipparion tribe to K'wiloh Nunh and K'yhetto Len, she has known struggle her entire life. Members of her clan fought for supremacy constantly, as a lack of gil and food caused the group to slowly collapse in on itself. Whilst still but a babe, her father was displaced as nunh by a man named K'xhivo. As Vex grew, she began slowly developing a fear that stays with her to this day: a paralyzing fear of becoming pregnant. She'd help the older women as they began showing and didn't see a miracle, but a curse.

K'vexha grew up, her cutesy exterior hiding a deeply cynical interior. K'xhivo took notice. Time had passed, so he was now was older, but still strong and virile. So, the women gave her the good news: she was now old enough to be given to their nunh. K'vexha panicked. She frantically began planning to leave, her window of escape lengthened by the timely arrival of several tias challenging K'xhivo.

Finally, Vex managed to squirrel away enough of their skins, weapons, and whatever else she could sell, and she left in the dead of night.

Now alone, she ran away to Limsa Lominsa. Desperate to survive, she began absorbing information as quickly as she could. The most important of these random studies, however, was found by pure happenstance: she found a lyre on the side of the road. Another refugee taught her the basics and, thankfully, she had a talent for it. She marched herself into the inn the moment she entered a town and offered entertainment in exchange for room and board. She would work nights and, during the day, go to the guilds in town and try to learn as much as she could.

She moved rather often, afraid that her clan would one day find her during one of their trips to town. As the years passed, however, she began to relax.

In all honesty, during her life, K'vexha hadn’t really paid much attention to politics or anything beyond where she was getting her next meal or job.

Until Dalamud fell.

However, when the piece of the moon landed near the place she called home, suddenly, the problems that seemed so nebulous and unreal were real and deadly.

The city fell into chaos for a bit and K'vexha found herself once again on the street with no way of defending herself. Throughout the disaster, K'vexha barely survived as dragon-spawn and other monsters swarmed the streets, killing many familiar faces. Finally, when everything magically settled down, the city was in ruins, along with K'vexha’s life.

With everything gone, she lived a few years on the streets before deciding to leave La Noscea. She sneaked onto a carriage without knowing its destination. A merchant on the carriage took pity on her and, in exchange for her conversation, paid her way to the city-state of Gridania.

Upon arriving in Girdania, K'vexha immediately fell in love. She loved the greenery and the cool, crisp, clean air. She decided that this was the place for her and began planning on a way to stay. After being forced to sign up with the adventurer’s guild, she began to explore Gridania. She looked around the guilds and finally decided that the archery guild was best for her. Thankfully, Luciane was kind and welcoming and, though it took a while, she began to do better and better.

It was around this time that K'vexha began to find herself dragged into various problems in the city. Apparently, in signing up with Mother Miounne, she had signed up to be everyone’s problem solver. She tried to tell them that she could barely take of herself, much less everyone else. However, as much as she wishes to be this life-hardened person, she is secretly squishy inside, and quickly finds herself helping others (though she certainly doesn’t like it).
